Shay’s Driving School offers professional K53 services for young and old between the ages of 16-70 years old, light motor vehicles (code 8),heavy motor vehicles (code 10) learner's and driver's license tuition and test preparation for students residing in Plettenberg Bay,Knysna and Tsitsikama. Besides the classes, we offer one-on-one Learner's License classes to assist students that struggle with understanding road signs, rules of the road and vehicle controls or the way that questions are phrased.

Learner's License class duration = 1-hour session.  Often, only one such session (1 hour) is sufficient to assist students with the areas they struggle with, if they have already studied everything, but mostly students need more classes.  The number of classes can be reduced by doing intense self-studying.

Classes are conducted at student's home or at agreed venue.

NOTE:  Booking Learner's License Test

By law, students have to book a test date in person at a testing station.  Necessary Documents to take along e.g your green barcoded ID book/ID card, four ID photos and your booking fee .  An additional amount is payable to the traffic department in cash, to secure a test date (booking).

NOTE:  The number of driving lessons required to prepare for the Driver's License test will be different for every student and cannot be predetermined.  The average young adult/ beginner driver requires approximately 15 to 25 hours of training.  This number could be higher or lower, depending on the individual's ability to learn a new skill, progress during training, level of focus during lessons, practicing between lessons, prior driving experience, age, confidence level, proximity to the practice yard, etc.

Students can arrange beforehand to be fetched from areas in central Plettenberg Bay (TOWN)  or can opt to meet us at the training yard .

Terms and Conditions (T's and C's)

 

1. CANCELLATIONS!

Please note that we have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy, and a 25% administration fee will be charged. All discounted packages will be charge a normal price on refund.

 Should you wish to cancel or postpone any appointment, it has to be done via email to shaylenvw@live.com and be acknowledged, in writing, by Shay’s Driving School.

Late cancellations are payable in full.

 

2.DRIVING LESSONS

Students must hold a valid learner's license or driver's license in order to start with driving lessons and the original document MUST be presented with each appointment.

No arrangements will be made in terms of driving lessons without payments. An upfront payment is required to secure a booking.

 

 

Payment Methods

 

1. Cash at the start of each appointment, except for packages, which must be paid upfront.

2. EFT (electronic funds transfer) or direct deposits will be accepted.  The proof of payment must reach us at least 24 hours before the commencement of lessons.

3.NO payments by cheques will be accepted.
